The Worn PathA garden path worn smooth by daily footsteps, lined with flowers that bloom from regular tending. The gate ahead marks a destination reached not by leaping, but by walking the same ground every day until it becomes a road.R = H × C
Daily Habits Compound
Your results come from how good your daily habits are multiplied by how consistently you repeat them. A great habit done rarely, or a poor habit done daily, gives little to show for it.
The idea
Small daily habits beat big efforts Most of what you achieve comes from a few small actions repeated every day, not from rare, heroic bursts of effort. Steady repetition of the right habits does the real work over time.
Why this form
Multiplication, because both are necessary: a strong habit you rarely repeat adds almost nothing, and constant repetition of a useless habit gets nowhere. A zero in either one makes the result zero.
Symbols
| R | Results lasting progress toward what you want over months 0 = no real progress, 1 = the outcome you were aiming for (0-1) |
| H | Habit quality how well the small daily action points at your goal 0 = the habit does nothing for the goal, 1 = it is exactly what the goal needs (0-1) |
| C | Consistency how often you actually do the habit 0 = never done, 1 = done every single day planned (0-1) |
Checks
- Can you name the one daily habit that matters most for your goal?
- Did you do that habit on at least 6 of the last 7 days?
- Does the habit take little enough effort that you could do it on a bad day?
- Would this habit clearly move your goal if repeated for a year?
